What is dowsing?
In practical terms, dowsing is simply the use of the body's innate abilities to discover information about the world about us. Dowsing, or divining, for water is the most commonly known form of this ancient craft but it is possible to dowse for anything hidden, from lost items to health problems.

While many dowsers use tools such as divining rods or pendulums, these in themselves are not what is identifying the hidden object. The dowser is doing that him or herself through their own abilities; the tools merely signal a response.

One of the most common myths about dowsing is that it is a special talent than only a very few 'gifted' people can develop. This could not be further from the truth. We all have the ability, it is just that in today's busy world where our five senses are bombarded with stimuli of every kind, the deeper, quieter abilities become overwhelmed and underused.

Our main aim is to help you realise your own inner dowser!

Dawn Kirkham
Sensing the Soul of Vancouver Island
Heading 5
Heading 4
Dawn Kirkham was born and grew up in Liverpool in the Northwest of England. She first learned to dowse almost thirty years ago and has enjoyed learning and growing with this practice ever since. Dawn emigrated to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada in 2009 and continued to focus on her passion for dowsing, earth energies and land and space healing amongst other things. She serves as a trustee of the British Society of Dowsers and Director at Large of the Canadian Society of Dowsers and is a registered tutor or both.
Dawn will be sharing with us her fascinating experiences of dowsing not only in her new home, but also on a totally different continent. Discussing her experiences of making contact with a very different landscape, and its more subtle inhabitants within the context of Indigenous culture, colonization and its ongoing impact. This journey has challenged what she thought she knew about her relationship with the earth and subtle energies, belonging and listening to the soul of the landscape. She says about her ongoing journey “this has been humbling and changed how I work with the land”.
Be part of a friendly community
Malvern Dowsers is a group of people from many different walks of life who have a common interest in developing and using their dowsing skills to explore the world. You will be made very welcome at our regular meetings and events, where tea and biscuits are always served.

Workshops
Learn and develop your dowsing skills
Our meetings are not just theoretical but practical, too. We particularly welcome those who would like to try dowsing for the first time. Dowsing with someone who has done it before means that when using dowsing tools, you have immediate confirmation that you are on the right track.

Nothing beats getting out into the landscape and dowsing on site. Recently we headed to British Camp on the Malvern Hills, and our chair Kate taught the fundamentals of dowsing at National Trust property Hidcote in Gloucestershire. Expect more adventures in the months ahead.
Annual membership of Malvern Dowsers is £12, which we think is excellent value for money. This entitles you to preferential rates for workshops and meetings, and free admittance to a wide variety of Zoom talks given by knowledgeable and interesting people. You will also be entitled to a free digital dowsing manual.

Dowsing Adventures
We meet regularly to share our thoughts and experiences and to hear from some of the UK's most experienced dowsers about their adventures and discoveries. The one thing we all enjoy is the opportunity to share our own experiences and to see how others have revealed their world through a richer perception.
What others say...
"The dowsing rod is a simple instrument, which shows the reaction of the human nervous system to certain factors that are unknown to us at this time"
Albert Einstein
"For some [dowsing] is just a tool, a bit like using a chainsaw, but for others it is an entry point, a portal if you like, to another way of understanding themselves and the life they see around them. It is is concept, a worldview, an idea."
Nigel Twinn
"Dowsing is just a simple way of talking to the universe."
Munther Ghannam
